The Role

We're looking for an Engineer Manager to join our team in Dubai. You'll join a diverse and talented team, with plenty of opportunities for personal growth, impact, and learning.

You will help navigate our engineering teams through the current growth by supporting a recently established team of engineers in their day-to-day development experience, personal development, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Help your engineers grow their skills and experience.
  • Run agile project management processes.
  • Conduct code reviews, and make technical contributions to product architecture as well as get involved in solving bugs and delivering small features.
  • Conduct managerial interviews for candidates, and train the team to do technical interviews.
  • Generate and implement process improvements.
  • Hold regular 1:1's with all members of their team.
  • Foster technical decision-making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary.
  • Draft quarterly OKRs.
  • Improve product quality, security, and performance.
  • Participate in weekday, weekend and occasional night on-call rotations to assist in troubleshooting product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues.
  • Identify skill gaps in the team and work closely with leadership to mentor engineers and/or hire externally when needed.

Qualifications

  • You have at least 2 years of experience with leading people
  • You have a proven track record of substantially impacting the development of complex or fast growing systems.
  • You have the ability to align people with a common goal. You can explain and materialize the objectives of the team.
  • You are direct but careful with feedback, both given and received.
  • You are fluent in English—our team consists of 10+ nationalities.
